Massacre in Benue: Yelwata Community Attacked in One of Nigeria’s Deadliest Raids

 A devastating attack occurred in Yelwata community, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, over the weekend of June 13–14, 2025. Armed men reportedly surrounded the village at night, locking residents inside their homes and setting them ablaze. According to various reports, between 100 and 200 people were killed, including women and children, while over 6,500 people were displaced and several homes, markets, and farms were destroyed. The attackers are suspected to be part of a heavily armed militia linked to longstanding herder–farmer conflicts that have plagued the region. Government officials, including Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Tinubu, have condemned the attack. Emergency response teams were dispatched, and the president has pledged to visit the affected area.  Popular South Korean actor, Song Jae-Rim is dead. Song Jae-Rim was known for his role in K-drama ‘The Moon Embracing The Sun’. He was found dead in his apartment on Tuesday November 12 2024, at 39-year-old. According to Korean media outlet Soompi, a two-page letter was discovered at the scene. As of the time of filing this report, the cause of his death has not been disclosed, although it is rumoured on social media that the actor may have committed suicide.

 Ahead of the court hearing of a defamation lawsuit filed against him, popular social media critic, VeryDarkMan, a.k.a. VDM, has denied defaming human ri ghts lawyer Femi Falana and his son, singer Falz. In the controversial leaked audio, Bobrisky alleged that Falz and his father contacted him while he was imprisoned at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre to facilitate a “presidential pardon” for N10 million. Falana and Falz, however, denied the claim and demanded that VeryDarkMan issue an apology and retract his statement, which they described as “defamatory,” within 24 hours.  According to Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje, a Nigerian pastor, TikTok banned him due to his dangerous miracles. Speaking to his members, the pastor explained why he was prohibited from TIKTOK. According to the pastor, he has done several of the "dangerous miracles" that the platform is terrified of. Odumeje claimed, "I'm being rejected even on social media. The TikTok rejected me because to my risky miracles. I was disconnected. “This miracle is beyond them,” they remarked.
