Libya: Enoh, the sports minister, tells Super Eagles that they have gone through near-death experience
The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh has invited the Super Eagles back to Nigeria after their difficult experience with Libya where they went for a return Group D cmatch for the AFCON 2025 qualifier.
The Minister, who personally received the national team at the Abuja airport on behalf of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu last night, told the Super Eagles players that they have gone through a near-death experience in Libya.
Recognizing their flexibility notwithstanding difficulty, Enoh expressed gratitude toward the group for the demonstration of development all through the period.
Enoh addressed the group, "You have gone through what I describe as a near-death experience for about 20 hours." The situation affected everyone in the nation.
"You stood firm and acted very maturely despite the difficulties you encountered in Libya." I welcome you home and am deeply appreciative of the team's efforts both on and off the field, on behalf of the President and the Nigerian people.
"I reaffirm the government's commitment to continue providing support to the national team as they prepare for the AFCON 2025 tournament." At this time, more than anything else, your security was our need, and we are delighted to see you complete," he further expressed.
