Thomas Tuchel signs a deal to be the New England manager
The Times reported on Tuesday that Thomas Tuchel has reached an agreement with the Football Association and will soon take over as England manager.
The German would turn out to be only the third unfamiliar administrator of the Three Lions after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.
According to Sky Sports, Tuchel was also in "pole position"to become Gareth Southgate’s long-term replacement.
Although CEO Mark Bullingham will provide an update on Wednesday at Wembley Stadium, the FA declined to comment on the reports.
England interim manager Lee Carsley described Tuchel as a "world-class coach who has won trophies" following Sunday's 3-1 Nations League victory over Finland.
He has managed several of Europe's top teams, including Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, but Chelsea in English football was his greatest success.
Tuchel drove the Blues to Champions Association greatness only months subsequent to assuming responsibility in 2021 and furthermore won the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the London club.
In an unwise early move by Chelsea's new ownership group, he was fired in September 2022.
